Look,
it is Willy Wonka's chocolate river!
Our lives continue
relatively tame, though upset is on the horizon. Rather than the 25
missionaries we expected to receive next week (already an incredible number!)
42 missionaries will be arriving on Monday, 39 of them reassigned from foreign
missions and 3 from the virtual MTC training.
President Hewlett has
asked Elder Hancock and I to present a zoom Come Follow Me lesson tomorrow,
which should be enjoyable.
The light at the
tunnel is beginning to shine, though not as brightly as one may hope. While our
order is currently until the 15th, our Branch President predicts that this may
still be extended further. When we are allowed out, we will be principally
limited to visiting those already contacted, but I crave being able to preach
to new contacts. Well, the time will come. Of course, if I were transferred to
Texas, the proposal for them to begin limited proselyting is currently being
considered by the Missionary Department. As Elder McKay told us, while we want
to get out there, it wouldn't be wise for us to be the first ones back on the
street.
Our speaker today was
Elder Sean Douglas, our area president. Amusingly, when they were young, he and
President Hewlett were coworkers, both later going on to be corporate CFOs, and
then called to serve jointly. He spoke on desires, and that we need not be
ruled by circumstances.
